Brandon and Hailey Anderson

Brandon and Hailey Anderson then and now.

Brandon and Hailey Anderson during college and again on their wedding day.

Hailey and I met during my sophomore year (her senior year) at Murray State. We were introduced by our best friend and after a couple of weeks, we realized how good of a team we truly are. Hailey and I started dating in 2016 and spent the following spring semester realizing that we were serious about our future and wanted to be together no matter what the future would bring. With Hailey about to graduate, I was nervous for what that would mean. I sat down to lunch at Burrito Shack with a close friend and we were discussing the “what if’s”. He looked at me and said, “what if...it works out and you’re the happiest you’ve ever been?” My friend was right! We continued dating as Hailey graduated and moved to Indianapolis for her first job and made trips to see each other when we could. We didn’t know it at the time, but that distance made us stronger people and grew our relationship. About a year later, Hailey got a new job and moved back to Murray, where I would soon be finishing my bachelors degree. I asked Hailey to marry me after a walk around campus and got down on one knee at the steps of Lovett Auditorium. That was a couple months before my graduation, when we decided that Murray would be the best place to live and continue our lives as husband and wife. We got married during the pandemic in Murray, in Hailey’s parents’ living room. At the time, large gatherings were prohibited, but we wanted to follow through with our original plan for a spring wedding. We had a small ceremony with family only and were surprised by a “drive by” reception that made the day so special. We love Murray State University and wouldn’t be together if it weren’t for our time as students on campus. We live in Murray with our two pups, Wilson and Dolly and hope to be active alumni on campus for years to come!
