The Shoe Tree near Pogue Library — Murray State "sole" mates have been placing their shoes here to bring them a lifetime of good luck. It is believed to have started around 1965.

I and my now wife, Jackie Plunkett, met at Murray State back in 2014 when we sat near each other during a computer class. We talked for a while and then started dating throughout our time in college. We ended up both living in Hester College where we both served on the RCC. We got engaged December 2017 and then got married on May 25, 2019. We continue to have connections with Murray State though my work in Career Services and Jackie's alumni connection with Racer Band.
