Susanna Crum and Rodolfo Salgado will be the Patricia Summerville Lecture Series Artists at Murray State University, Fall 2021. They will produce and edition of their work and present a public lecture Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 12:30pm in room 631 of the Price Doyle Fine Arts Building. The lecture can also be joined via zoom.


While at Murray State, Susanna and Rudy  will be editioning a collaborative collagraph and intaglio print with the help of the advanced printmaking class. The workshop will be Tuesday, October 19 – October 21, 2021 in FA 1004 from 9:00am – 4:00pm. All events are free and open to the public.


Susanna Crum and Rodolfo Salgado live in Louisville, KY. Together they run Calliope Arts Printmaking Studio and Gallery, work with artists within local and national communities, and care for chickens, a garden, and a live/work property built in 1885 in downtown Louisville. As River City Tintype, Rodolfo makes photographs on metal and glass with the 170-year-old method of wet plate collodion photography. Susanna is Associate Professor of Fine Arts - Printmaking at Indiana University Southeast. Both have been recipients of the Great Meadows Foundation professional development grants and recent artist residencies at Kunstarhuset Messen, Ålvik, Norway; Edinburgh Printmakers, Edinburgh, Scotland; and Kala Art Institute, Berkeley, CA. They met in 2009 while pursuing MFA degrees in printmaking at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA, and moved to Kentucky after receiving their degrees in 2012.
