Weather updates

2/19/21 - 2 p.m. - Murray State University, including all regional campus sites at Hopkinsville, Madisonville, Paducah, Henderson and Ft. Campbell, will return to normal academic and administrative operations from the recent changes due to the winter weather, beginning Monday, February 22.

Campus operations that are typically open during the weekend, such as the Bauernfeind Wellness Center, Curris Center, Waterfield Library, Winslow Dining Hall and other campus dining locations will return to normal operating hours beginning Saturday, February 20.

Facilities Management staff continue to execute ice and snow removal operations on portions of campus as necessary. Those who are on campus are encouraged to exercise caution.

2/18/21 - 2 p.m. - Murray State University, including all regional campus sites at Hopkinsville, Madisonville, Paducah, Henderson and Ft. Campbell, will continue to operate remotely on Friday, February 19.

Administrative offices will be functioning remotely while classes will be operating remotely as well. Faculty who teach in-person instruction will reach out to their students with additional details in the absence of face-to-face learning.

  • Curris Center - open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. (scheduled campus visits and tours are postponed)
  • The University Bookstore at the Curris Center will be open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
  • Mail and package pick-ups will be available at the Curris Center from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. 
  • Starbucks - open from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
  • Chick-fil-A - open from 10:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.
  • Winslow Dining Hall - open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
  • Fast Track - open from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.
  • Waterfield Library - open from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. while also providing remote services. Individuals who need assistance can contact the Libraries via email or chat

Each residence hall continues to plan and provide a variety of programs and activities for students.

Those who are in need of assistance should contact the Murray State Police Department at 270-809-2222. Students living on campus may also reach out to their RA or RD.

2/16/21 - 8:43 a.m. - The Susan E. Bauernfeind Wellness Center will be open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. today.

2/15/21 - 2:30 p.m. - With a major winter storm upon our region and out of an abundance of caution for the remainder of the week, Murray State University, including all regional campus sites at Hopkinsville, Madisonville, Paducah, Henderson and Ft. Campbell, will continue to operate remotely Tuesday, February 16 through Friday, February 19. Murray State remains in close contact with the National Weather Service. There is a potential for significant winter weather this week, including historic snowfall, extremely cold temperatures and dangerous winds. The health and safety of our campus community is paramount.

Administrative offices will be functioning remotely while classes will be operating remotely as well. Faculty who teach in-person instruction will reach out to their students with additional details in the absence of face-to-face learning.

2/15/21 - 11:17 a.m. - A major winter storm is upon our region with the potential for historic snowfall, extremely cold temperatures, and dangerous winds. The health and safety of our campus community is paramount. Murray State remains in close contact with the National Weather Service.

All members of our campus community are strongly encouraged to remain at home today (Monday), exercise extreme caution and avoid traveling both on and off campus.

If you are able to, please remain indoors through the rest of today. Each residence hall is planning a variety of programs and activities for students. Preparations are underway for boxed meals to be served to all residents inside the residence halls beginning later this afternoon at 4 p.m. for dinner. Those with meal questions should speak with their RA.

Those who are in need of assistance should contact the Murray State Police Department at 270.809.2222. Students living on campus may also reach out to their RA or RD.

Today’s scheduled deadline for Student Government Association applications, as well as the mandatory candidate’s meeting, have been rescheduled. The revised application deadline is February 22 at noon, with the candidate’s meeting to take place at 4 p.m. in the Curris Center Ballroom, also on February 22. 

Again, it is imperative to make good decisions today, particularly remaining indoors, with the potential for a historic winter storm in our area.

2/15/21 - 9:35 a.m. - Due to inclement weather, the University Libraries, including Waterfield Library, will provide services remotely. Individuals who need assistance can contact the Libraries via email or chat.

2/14/21 - 2:12 p.m. - Murray State University, including all regional campus sites at Hopkinsville, Madisonville, Paducah, Henderson and Ft. Campbell, will operate remotely on Monday, February 15, 2021.

Those who are on campus are encouraged to exercise extreme caution due to forecasted weather including extremely cold temperatures. Facilities Management staff will be executing ice and snow removal operations on portions of campus as necessary.

  • Chick-fil-A -  10 a.m. until 4 p.m. (closed on Sunday)
  • Winslow Dining Hall and Fast Track - Normal weekend operating hours
  • Waterfield Library – 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. on Sunday

2/11/21 - 10:15 a.m. - This evening’s Murray State women’s/men’s basketball doubleheader against Southeast Missouri State has been rescheduled for Friday, February 12 at the CFSB Center. Game times will be 2 p.m. for the women’s game with a 5 p.m. tip time for the men’s game.

 2/10/21 - 3 p.m. - Murray State University, including all regional campus sites at Hopkinsville, Madisonville, Paducah, Henderson and Ft. Campbell, will continue operating remotely on Thursday, February 11, 2021.

2/9/21 - 4 p.m. - Due to the possibility of inclement weather and as a safety precaution, Murray State University, including all regional campus sites at Hopkinsville, Madisonville, Paducah, Henderson and Ft. Campbell, will be operating remotely on February 10, 2021. In addition, in-person classes at the Paducah Regional Campus are cancelled for tonight (February 9) beginning at 4 p.m.
