An “Opportunity Afforded” – how to make best use of the University’s brand.
In the summer of 2016, Murray State University introduced the new “Opportunity Afforded” brand as a centralized marketing identity. How can you make the best use of this brand? We’ll briefly cover what went into the development of the brand, what units and departments on campus are doing to make best use of it, while also showing you branding resources that are available on the University’s online toolkit.
Working with the media.
Our office works directly with local, regional and national media outlets to help facilitate reporter’s inquiries and promote the great work being done by our talented students, faculty and staff. This session will cover how you can help share your good news with our office (to then have us share with media), as well as practical pointers on working with media, such as conducting an interview with a reporter.
Common design flaws – and how you can fix them.
Whether it’s a printed flyer, an image for a website, or anything in between, members of our design team will give you some easy solutions to make sure your next design project is the best it can be.
Getting the best out of amateur video.
If you’ve been ‘that person’ who holds your phone vertically (instead of horizontally) when recording video, this is the session for you! Our digital media team will provide both effective and practical tips so you can make the most of video for professional use in your particular department or area.
Design and Printing Services.
Our design and print team provide a wide variety of services including graphic design, as well as quality printing for a large variety of items ranging from necessary office supplies (business cards, letterhead, envelopes) to large-scale promotional marketing content (retractable banners, wide-format posters, brochures, programs). Learn more about the services which are available right here on campus.
Your readers deserve better: developing proper written content.
It’s often forgotten, but important, to remember your audience when crafting written content for your website, a marketing brochure, and nearly everything else. We will cover best practices for writing as well as discuss AP style guidelines, so you can make a direct and impactful connection with your audience.
Social Media: Trends and Best Practices.
The ever-changing social media landscape certainly keeps our team on its toes. We’ll discuss each of the major social media platforms that the University uses, and share some quick tips on the best way to leverage social media to help communicate and promote your area or department.
