Great Beginnings

Great Beginnings gives you the opportunity to acquaint yourself with the campus and the community, easing the transition to Murray State University life. Now in its 28th year, Great Beginnings has become an annual tradition at Murray State University. You will get assistance in a variety of areas like financial aid, advising, and meal plans. There will be many opportunities for residential and commuter students to meet, interact through a variety of activities, and learn from each other. 

Events and activities are subject to change based on recommendations and guidance from the Racer Restart taskforce, the CDC and local and state government. We look forward to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for our new Racers!

Signature events

• T-Shirt Swap: Bring in breakfast food items or ready to eat meals to donate to our Murray State food pantry, Racers and get a free t-shirt!

• Explore Murray: Held at the CFSB Center, businesses from all over Murray will have information tables with lots of information and coupons!

• Bingo Night: Come play a few rounds of Bingo for a chance to win prizes!

• Waterfield Wired: Win prizes, play video games, glow mini golf, Minute to Win it Games, and more!

• Blue & Gold Celebration: Join us as we celebrate and prepare you for the next few years of college
