Emerging Scholars Institute

Emerging Scholars Institute (Mentoring Program)

The Emerging Scholars Institute (ESI) is designed to address the needs of our underrepresented student population by paying attention specifically to their transitional experience from high school to college and provide students the help they need to gain and master the proper academic and leadership skills required for their chosen field as well as reflect the characteristics of a Murray State University graduate.

ESI Programs

The first phase of the Emerging Scholars Institute is Connected which is the peer mentoring program for incoming freshmen. ESI Team leaders, peer mentors, and faculty/staff mentors assist incoming freshmen with their transition from high school to college.

The second phase of the Emerging Scholars Institute is the “On-Track” program. This provides a structured retention focused phase that emphasizes self-help which focuses on academic success.
