New Racer Academy Students

Think dual credit may be for you? Do this NOW: 

• Talk to your guidance counselor about your plans.

• Create an online account and submit your free online application. (We need the Racer Academy application even if you are already admitted to Murray State.) If you are asked for an application fee, that means you are in the wrong application. Contact us for assistance! 

• Ask your guidance counselor to send your transcripts to msu.raceracademy@murraystate.edu. 

If you change your mind about taking a dual credit course, e-mail us at msu.raceracademy@murraystate.edu. 

Deadlines

 

May 1st - for Fall / August start

December 1st - for Spring / January start

Three items are due by the dates listed above: 

1. Online Application
2. Registration Request Form - Course options will be posted at Racer Academy
3. Transcript - Send to msu.raceracademy@murraystate.edu

1. 3.0 unweighted GPA or rank in the top half of your class.

2. Be a resident of Kentucky and/or attend a Kentucky high school.

3. Must be a junior or senior. (Sophomores may take Agriculture, AGR, courses.) 

Courses are $93 a credit hour. Textbooks may also be required. 

May 1st 

Submit: 

• Registration Request Form
• Online application

Ask your guidance counselor to send us your transcripts before you leave for the summer.  

August - Classes start! 

• Look for an e-mail titled “Admission Decision” that will arrive soon after you are admitted. Follow the instructions for how to set up your Murray State systems.

• Call the Service Desk at (270) 809-2346 if you need help logging in to Murray State’s systems. 

• Navigate to Canvas, myGate, and your MSU e-mail account. Check your MSU e-mail regularly or forward it to an account you do check. We will be e-mailing you more information about getting started! 

• If you are not receiving a scholarship, bills are due after you are registered for your course. Access myGate and go to the Money tab to view your bill.

• If you are receiving a scholarship, it will be applied to your account in October.

• View Drop Deadlines. (Semester calendars and deadlines > click on the current semester) and tuition refunds. 

September

• Title IX Quiz due on Canvas. You must earn 100% on this quiz.  This quiz must be taken once each academic year.

October

• If you are receiving a scholarship from the state of Kentucky, it will be applied to your account at the end of October.

December 1st Deadline
