When is Family Weekend 2021?
Family Weekend is October 1-3, 2021. This is a great time to visit campus to see your student’s college home! Many fun events are planned for the weekend so your family can have a great time together and learn more about Murray State University.

Costs and Registration
What is the cost for Family Weekend?
Costs for Family Weekend include lunch and football game tickets. Other activities, as noted on the schedule, have a fee online or at the door prior to the event. Many activities are free, as noted on the schedule.
- $5.00/child (ages 3-12)
- Free: MSU Students. Please include them in the total number of lunch tickets you are requesting. This will ensure an accurate lunch count.
- $3/adult ticket
- Kids through College aged students are free
- Murray State students are free (Racer Card ID required)
When can I register my family for Family Weekend?
Today! Click on Register to access the registration and payment site.
Registration is open through Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at 11:59 p.m.
If you did not register and still want to attend, you can attend some activities and pay at the door prior to the event. Many events are free of charge. Please view the schedule for more details. If you want to purchase football tickets, please contact the Murray State Ticket Office at 270.809.3000.
There will be no onsite registration again this year.
What events can my student attend?
Your student is encouraged to attend all events with you during Family Weekend.
Can we bring grandparents and other relatives to Family Weekend?
Yes, all family members are welcome.
What if I have more than one student attending the University?
You can include all of your students in one family registration. Keep in mind that students get in free to lunch and to the football game with their Racer Card ID.
What if I need to make changes to my registration after I have already submitted and paid?
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you need to make adjustments to your registration
What if I miss the deadline to register online?
Registration for Family Weekend will close on September 28 (11:59 p.m.). You can attend most of the events; however the lunch is only available to pre-registered guests. You can purchase football tickets by contacting the MSU ticket office at 270.809.3000. Football tickets purchased outside the Family Weekend package are $12/ticket. Many events are free and some you can pay for at the door. Please see the Family Weekend schedule for details. There will be no in-person, on-site registration for Family Weekend so please register before September 28.
Can my student pick up my welcome packet for our family prior to Family Weekend?
Yes, students may pick up their family’s welcome packet and Family Weekend bag at the CFSB ticket office on September 28, 29, 30 or October 1 from 1-4:30 p.m. Packets may also be picked up on Saturday, October 2, during lunch from Noon-1:30 p.m.
Do I receive tickets for lunch?
No paper tickets are provided for lunch. Your welcome packet and Family Weekend bag will allow you to enter the family lunch.
Where do I pick-up football tickets?
For those who pre-ordered football tickets through the Family Weekend Registration site, football tickets may be picked up at the CFSB ticket office on September 28, 29, 30 or October 1 from 1-4:30 p.m. Tickets may also be picked up on Saturday, October 2, during lunch from Noon-1:30 p.m. Prior to the game, tickets can be picked up at Gate 4 Will Call Gate of Stewart Stadium.

Should I bring my own lawn chairs for the Saturday lunch?
You are welcome to bring your own lawn chairs, blankets, small tents for shade, etc. The University Bookstore (located in the Curris Center) will also have lawn chairs, blankets and seat cushions available for purchase. There will be a limited number of tables, folding chairs and tents available during the lunch. Please note that Murray State is not responsible for any lost personal items.
Can you guarantee good weather for Family Weekend?
We wish we could! We are hoping for a sunny day with temperatures in the 70’s or 80’s but please come prepared for rain, very cool temperatures or very warm temperatures.

Can I sit with my student during the Murray State football game?
Yes! All individual game ticket sales will be general admission, in which families and students can sit together anywhere in the bleacher seating throughout the stadium outside of the reserved chairs. The reserved chairbacks are sold strictly on a season ticket basis.
Can I bring my RV to the game?
Is tailgating allowed at the game?
Parking and Campus Map
Do I need to register my vehicle to park on campus?
Yes, if you will be joining us for Family Weekend, please access the Family Weekend Parking Registration site to register your vehicle. If you have questions about parking, please contact our Parking Services office at 270.809.4812 or visit their website.
Where can I park during Family Weekend?
Access the parking zone map and other parking information. Please observe and respect reserved spaces for handicap parking, special staff (i.e. Resident Directors), university vehicles and emergency vehicles.
Where can I find a campus map?
The campus map is available online. A map will also be included in your welcome packet.
Is housing provided for Family Weekend guests?
No, you will be responsible for your own housing. Area accommodations are available on the travel page. You are encouraged to look for housing accommodations in the surrounding area: Benton, Draffenville, Paducah, Mayfield, Land Between the Lakes (KenLake, Grand Rivers), VRBO or Paris, TN.
How do I register for the Racer 5K?
Please visit the Racer 5k website to view more information and to register. The 5K is on Saturday, October 2, at 8 a.m. Check-in at 7:15 a.m.; Race begins at 8 a.m. In-person registration the day of the race is possible.

Is Murray State a tobacco free campus?
As of August 5, 2015, Murray State is a tobacco-free campus. View the Murray State Tobacco Policy: The use of all tobacco products is prohibited on all property that is owned, operated, leased, occupied or controlled by the University.
