Homecoming King and Queen Applications Due by 4 p.m.
Registered Student Organizations as of October 1, 2020, may nominate a member/representative for Homecoming King and a member/representative for Homecoming Queen. The student must have an MSU GPA of at least 2.75. King and Queen nominees must be students at MSU with a GPA of at least 2.75. The candidates will be first judged by a screening committee, which will narrow the selection to five Queen and five King candidates. The screening committee will be considering academic standing, personal interests, good grooming, and most importantly, involvement in extracurricular activities at Murray State. The student body will then vote for their choice of Homecoming King and Queen online (MyGate) on October 28-29. Applications for Queen and King are online.
Monday, Oct. 19
Homecoming Banner Applications Due by 12 p.m.
Instead of the traditional Parade with floats, the Student Government Association will host a Parade of Banners on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 9:30 a.m. , on 16th Street. Banners will be displayed from October 31 to November 6 (unless inclement weather). The 2020 Homecoming Court and dignitaries will officially cut the ribbon to start the Parade of Banners at 9:30 am.
Registered Student Organizations, as of October 1, 2020, are encouraged to have a Banner (typically a flat bed sheet) painted with the theme WE ARE RACERS, as well as the name of your organization. All organizations are being judged in the same category. More details are available in the Homecoming 2020 packet. Please submit your banner application online.
