Department of Music to host a pair of piano recitals March 6 and 8

MURRAY, Ky. — The Murray State University Department of Music is excited to present a pair of piano recitals during the first weekend of March.
On Friday, March 6 at 6 p.m., faculty members Meeyoun Park and Matthew Gianforte present a recital of important works from the piano duo repertoire. Celebrated for their expressive depth and technical brilliance, Park and Gianforte will play works by Franz Schubert, Franz Liszt, Samuel Barber and Maurice Ravel, in a program that spans the poetic, the virtuosic and the boldly orchestral.
On Sunday, March 8 at 3:30 p.m., Murray State will host guest artist Gregory Sioles in a solo program that will feature works by Muzio Clementi, Luciano Berio, Frédéric Chopin and Modest Mussorgsky. Praised for his passionate, stylish, and insightful performances, Sioles has performed on three continents in some of the most important venues in the world. He has served on the piano faculty at Indiana University and Louisiana State University.
Both programs, which are free and open to the public, will be held in the Performing Arts Hall in the Old Fine Arts Building on the Murray State campus.
