FAFSA now open for students and families to complete

MURRAY, Ky. – On December 31, 2023, Federal Student Aid launched a soft opening of the 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form at studentaid.gov. 

• Students and families can visit studentaid.gov/announcements-events/fafsa-support for more information on what to expect during the soft launch. 

• The 2024–25 FAFSA form expands eligibility for federal student aid, including Pell Grants, and provides a more streamlined user experience.

• Applicants are encouraged to be patient when completing the 2024-25 FAFSA during this soft launch period. Those who visit the site during a pause should check back later to access the form. 

• Murray State University will not receive student FAFSA information until late January or early February 2024. 

• Students and families should use Murray State code 001977 when completing the FAFSA. 

Prospective students who are interested in joining the Racer family can learn more, schedule an on-campus or virtual visit, and apply for admission at admissions.murraystate.edu. The 2023-2024 freshman class is the largest in Murray State history, while overall enrollment is the largest since 2017.
