This year’s freshman class is the largest in Murray State history

 

MURRAY, Ky. – Admission for the fall 2024 semester and 2024-25 academic year beginning in August at Murray State University is open as future Racers can apply today at admissions.murraystate.edu.

Prospective students can learn more, schedule a campus visit and apply for admission at admissions.murraystate.edu. This year’s freshman class is the largest in Murray State history, while this year’s overall enrollment is the largest since 2017.

National rankings and recognition for quality and value: Murray State continues to reinforce its “high-quality, high-impact, nationally-recognized best value” promise that has been identified by multiple publications. The University has been named a “Best Bang for the Buck” by Washington Monthly, one of “America’s Best Colleges” by Forbes, as well as a “Top-Tier University” by U.S. News & World Report for more than 30 consecutive years. 

Murray State offers 148 academic programs from agriculture, business and music to computer science, healthcare, education and much more. Individuals can browse a list of academic programs and learn more about career, industry and employment information at murraystate.edu/programs.

According to “The College Payoff,” a report from the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce, finishing college puts workers on track to earn a median of $2.8 million over their lifetime, compared with $1.6 million if they only had a high school degree.

Racer Nation Orientation: Murray State’s Racer Nation Orientation (RNO) sessions are open for fall 2024 incoming freshmen and transfer students at murraystate.edu/orientation. A required event, Racer Nation Orientation provides new students the opportunity to register for classes, order their Racer Book Bundle, meet faculty, staff and students as well as meet fellow incoming students through a variety of special programs and activities. Additional programming will be offered for parents and family members. Admitted students are strongly encouraged to register as soon as possible as several orientation dates have already reached capacity. 

Record amount of financial aid and scholarships: Murray State has an expanded regional tuition rate that includes a total of 15 states across the country. These states include Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. Murray State’s enhanced academic achievement scholarships emphasize GPA for entering freshmen students. Based on the University’s most recent data, a record $127 million was awarded to students in financial aid and scholarships, and among its freshman class, 99 percent received a scholarship or financial aid.
