Accessible Parking Accommodations

Accessible Parking Accommodation

Parking accommodation requirements for a permanent or a temporary disability/injury

To be eligible for a Parking Accommodation, a student with a documented disability must be registered with Student Disability Services (SDS) by completing the SDS Registration Form and the Accessible Parking Form .  Students must still purchase a campus parking permit, which can be accessed on the Parking Portal on MyGate.  The Accessible Parking Form, which serves as documentation of the disability is to be completed by the student's medical provider and returned to SDS through the following methods:

What if I already have Disabled License Plate or an Accessible Parking Placard?

If a student is not a Veteran and already has a Disabled License Plate or an Accessible Parking Placard registered in their name by the state of Kentucky, they are not required to submit the Accessible Parking Form, as outlined above.  However, they must still provide a photo of the Disabled License Plate and/or Accessible Parking  Placard to the SDS office.  If the Disabled License Plate is issued by a state other than Kentucky, the student is required to complete the Accessible Parking Form and provide a photo of the plate.  Photos may be uploaded to the SDS Registration Form at the time of completion.  If a student has already submitted the SDS Registration Form, the photo can be emailed, faxed, or hand-delivered separately to the SDS office.

A two-week temporary parking accommodation may be given to a student to allow their physician time to complete the form and return it to Student Disability Services.
