Search Programs and Apply Now

Speak with an Advisor

Get started today.

Step 1: Search for the Best Program for You

Search for your study abroad program at our online application system, Via. You can search by your major or field of study, location, term, length of program, provider, or language.

Step 2: Bring Your Questions to Open Advising

Join us any Monday at 3 p.m. or Thursday at 11 a.m. in Blackburn 135 for any question you have about the application, funding, or anything else you're curious about.

Step 3: Meet with an Advisor

After you've attended an Open Advising session, we're happy to help answer any additional questions you may have about the program or programs you're considering. That's what we do - provide more detail and help you narrow down your options as well as talk with you about funding if you can't attend a Scholarship Workshop.

We accept walk-ins but sometimes we're busy and can't see you right away. The best way to ensure we're available is to schedule an appointment. It's easy: Click on Education Abroad Advising on the left sidebar of this page to find the advisor for your program and/or college and send them an email!

We're located in suite 131 Blackburn, in the North Wing.

Step 4: Apply for the Program and for Scholarships

In order to make applying easier for you and to protect the environment, we have an online application. Once you have found a program you're interested in, make sure to read the Deadlines info so you aren't late! The Policies and Procedures page might help you understand the application process if you have questions.

The scholarship application is within the same online system as your program application. The scholarship deadline for your program is the same date as the program application deadline. Remember that you cannot be considered for a scholarship if you haven't completed the program application, a general MSU scholarship application, or your FAFSA. To read more about funding and the money we want to give you, check out our Funding site.

Step 5: After You're Accepted

You're not alone in this process. Before you go, you will attend a study abroad orientation to learn more specific details about your program, how Murray State will respond in an emergency, how to remain safe and healthy while abroad, and how to maximize your learning inside and outside the classroom. Family members are invited to attend orientation with you. For your orientation date, see our Dates and Deadlines page and click on the term of your study abroad program.
