Student Financial Services
Invest in your future
At Murray State University, we believe that no one should be denied an education because of financial need. That's the mission of our Student Financial Services team which includes Financial Aid, Scholarships and the Bursar's Office. Those three offices work together to make your college education more affordable.
Last year, 99% of freshman students received a scholarship or financial aid. Overall, more than $115 million was awarded in financial aid and scholarships.

Paying for college
Complete the FAFSA
You must complete the FAFSA to be eligible for Financial Aid or scholarships. FAFSA stands for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. It's a free application that helps determine your eligibility for financial aid like work-study programs, grants, or loans. Plus, we have to have your FAFSA on file to before we can award any scholarships.
Complete the scholarship application
The scholarship application opens on September 1 every year. You can complete the scholarship application before the FAFSA but both applications must be filed to receive any awards.
Apply for other scholarships
Murray State offers scholarships but you may also be eligible for external or non-Murray State scholarships. Apply for as many scholarships as possible to help make your college education more affordable.
We know paying for college can be tough. That's why our Bursar's Office will help you set up a payment plan. Payment plans can be divided in three or four payment options.
