Do you see the world through a lens, capturing moments, moods, and stories that others might overlook? Fine Art Photography will challenge you to deepen your perspective, refine your skills, and use images to evoke emotions, spark joy, and inspire change.

At Murray State, we offer a dynamic Photography area. With personalized attention from our experienced and highly exhibited faculty, you will refine your craft in small, hands-on courses within a vibrant community of peers. You can emphasize in Photography while pursuing any of the following:

Our curriculum includes a range of courses that help students build a robust portfolio. You'll explore everything from studio lighting and vintage techniques to the latest in digital photography and video production. We also emphasize real-world experience, with opportunities to collaborate with local non-profits and exhibit your work at venues beyond Murray State.

What are my career options as a photographer?

Our program equips graduates for diverse careers, including professional photography, videography, multimedia storytelling, drone photography, visual journalism, commercial photography, photo and video production and VFX supervising, social media content creation, creative direction, and video game design. The creative and technical skills you gain in photography are highly valued across industries.
