MBA Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet Murray State University requirements (see Graduate Admissions). Additional requirements for admission are as follows:
All domestic applicants must have either an:
- undergraduate GPA of 3.25 from a four-year domestic institution; or
- undergraduate GPA of 3.0 from a four-year domestic institution with two years of full-time work experience (résumé with references required); or
- undergraduate GPA of 2.75 from a four-year domestic institution with four years of full-time work experience (résumé with references required); or
- earned master’s or doctoral degree.
If none of the above conditions are met, domestic applicants must have at least an undergraduate GPA of 2.75 from a four-year domestic institution and take either the GMAT (Graduate Management Aptitude Test) and earn a minimum total score of 430 along with a minimum quantitative subscore of 32, or take the GRE (Graduate Records Examination) and earn a minimum total score of 288 along with a minimum quantitative subscore of 147.
For domestic applicants with at least a 2.5 GPA who have the necessary exam score described above, and whose case includes exceptional circumstances, a candidate review by the admissions committee may occur on a case-by-case basis. In such exceptional cases, the admissions committee will review whether a candidate has significant high-level work experience or qualifications, and at least 5 years since the bachelor’s degree was earned.
All international students, regardless of work experience, must have at least a 2.75 GPA (U.S. equivalent) and also meet the required above scores on either the GRE or GMAT. An applicant whose native language is not English or did not graduate from an English-speaking college or university must score a minimum of 20 in each section of the TOEFL or a minimum of 6 on each section of the IELTS.
