Adolescent, Career, and Special Education
Welcome to the Adolescent, Career, and Special Education Department at Murray State University!
We are delighted you want information about our department's challenging teacher education
programs. This department offers a variety of programs leading to baccalaureate degrees
in middle and secondary levels of teaching. We also offer degrees in special education,
health and physical education, and career and technical education. All of our programs
are NCATE accredited.
Once you have been accepted into the Teacher Education Program, you will gain an abundant
amount of "hands on" knowledge through many field experiences (at local schools) woven
into the professional studies courses offered at the College of Education and Human
Services. When you become a graduate, you will be eligible for certification to teach
in Kentucky schools and prepared for beginning levels of professional teaching practice.
The content of our programs will be the basis for continuing education and advanced
study.
After you have received your baccalaureate degree, you can enroll in the Teacher Leader Master's Degree Program. This degree continues your teacher certification and provides a Rank change.
