Education Abroad

College is a time to broaden your horizons. What better way to do that than by studying abroad? An essential part of the Honors College experience and a requirement for the Honors Diploma, the Education Abroad program allows you to learn while being immersed in a culture unlike your own. It’s a truly exciting way to discover new places, new people and new ideas.

“I studied Kant and Goethe in Germany, presented academic work in New Orleans and Chicago and discussed most classwork in small groups. The amazing thing was that I was able to do all this at a regional university.”

A broad range of programs

Murray State offers 40+ countries and 160+ Education Abroad programs to choose from. Any Education Abroad program that lasts at least nine days will fulfill the requirement, but the international experiences are so rewarding that Honors students often participate in multiple programs.

  • Programs range from full-semester to two-week winter, spring, or summer break options.
  • Some programs are in non-English-speaking countries and include a foreign language component, while others are in countries where a majority of people speak English.
  • Many programs are led by Murray State faculty, some are run by a consortium of universities and others are direct exchange programs.
