Participants who do not complete Phase 1 will not be eligible for Phase 2.
If Phase 1 is NOT completed, employees will incur a penalty of $180, assessed monthly
September 2022 - November 2022.
If Phase 2 is NOT completed, employees will incur a penalty of $120, assessed monthly
October 2022 - December 2022.
Phase 1
Complete Phase 1 between January 1, 2022 and May 31, 2022 to be eligible for incentive
AND move on to Phase 2.

Phase 1 Options
You must complete and/or attend 4 Racer Wellness sanctioned events, activities and
screenings during January 1, 2022 - May 31, 2022 (with the exception of preventive
screenings that backdate to June 1, 2021). This list may be added to throughout the
year.
2022 Wellness Pledge screening requirements:
Screenings must be filed through Murray State University insurance.
Screenings must take place between June 1, 2021 - May 31, 2022.
Proof of preventive screenings will be obtained through name only reports from Murray
State benefit vendors.

Cervical cancer screening (women's exam)
Cholesterol screening
Colon cancer screening

Save the date! Racer Wellness and Human Resources are excited to offer a free A1C
screening for faculty and staff. The screening will be provided by Murray-Calloway
County Hospital.
Percent A1C monitors glucose control over the last three months, and can be used by
your physician to diagnose diabetes and prediabetes. Fasting is NOT required for this
test and you will receive your results immediately. The screening will be available
April 12, 13 and 14 from 7:30am - 10:30am in the Curris Center Cumberland Room (3rd
level).
An appointment will be required for the screening. Choose the date and time from the
links below that work best for your schedule. All appointments will take place in
the Curris Center Cumberland Room (3rd level).

as an event for Phase 1.
The study consists of a 5-week intervention to evaluate the effectiveness of 3 different
hydration reminders to encourage water intake. Participants will monitor their water
intake and hydration levels as well as certain physical health factors affected by
hydration. The purpose of the study is to better understand the unique water requirements
for optimal mental and physical performance in healthy women.
You may be eligible to participate if:
You are a female between 19-50 years of age
Have no known metabolic or renal disease
Are not taking blood pressure medication or other medication / supplement with a diuretic
You own an Apple or Android smartphone
You own a personal fitness device (e.g., Apple Watch, Fitbit, Garmin, etc)
The study must be completed in full to receive Racer Wellness credit. A list will
be sent to Racer Wellness upon completion of the program.

Arboretum Gardening Event

Dr. Alyx Shultz from the Hutson School of Agriculture will be presenting on gardening
and providing a hands-on planting experience. All participants will take home plants!

Location: Check-in will be set up by the Ordway Lawn | Walking routes will be determined
by the individual
Weather: If there is inclement weather the Walking Group will not meet and will resume
the next scheduled date
Faculty and staff are invited and encouraged to join Racer Wellness in walking on
campus every Wednesday during the month of July. Check-in will be from 11am – 11:30am
and employees may walk the route of their choice at that point. Attending the Walking
Group will count as a maximum of one sanctioned event (regardless of how many weeks
are attended) for Phase 2 of the 2022 Wellness Pledge.
All faculty and staff are invited to join a come and go watermelon social event!
