Competitive Teams
Offering Esports teams for students is at the core of Murray State Esports' mission. These teams compete against other colleges or universities across the nation in multiple tournament systems. Participating on these teams has the following benefits:
- Creating friendships and facilitating interactions between Murray State University students.
- Becoming more connected to Murray State University by representing the institution in Esports competitions.
- Creating additional motivation to continue your academic career.
- Competitive matches being broadcast on Murray State Esports' Twitch page.
Murray State Esports supports multiple competitive teams in the following games: League of Legends, Rocket League, Overwatch, Valorant, Rainbow Six: Siege, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Smash Bros., and Hearthstone. Teams are open to ALL full-time Murray State University students via a tryout process.

Team History/Placement:
Our League of Legends team was the very first competitive team ever fielded by Murray State Esports back when the organization was just a student club. Since that time the group has grown and remained competitive in the NECC. Highlights include a 2nd place regular season finish and a semifinal playoff run in Spring 2022 as well as a 3rd place regular season finish and runner's up in the playoffs in Fall 2022.

Team History/Placement:
Our Rocket League team was one of the first new teams formed after the esports club opened up beyond LoL and Overwatch. Since then we've seen our team compete across several leagues. In the NECC we've had our Gold team finish 11th in Fall 2021, and 9th in Spring 2022 and Fall 2022. Our Blue team finished 5th in Fall 2021, 9th in Spring 2022, and 7th in Fall 2022.

Team History/Placement:
Our Overwatch team was formed in Fall 2019 and has competed across several leagues since that time. In Fall 2019 our Gold team finished 11th in the TESPA Collegiate Series and 18th in the same competition in Fall 2020. In addition, our team finished in 5th place during the NECC regular season in Fall 2021, 1st place in Spring 2022 in addition to finishing runner's up in playoffs. In Fall 2022 the team placed 2nd in regular season and once again finished as runner's up in playoffs.

Team History/Placement:
With the release of Valorant in Summer 2020 a passionate community quickly grew in our organization. Since that time our Gold and Blue teams have found varying levels of success. In Fall 2021 both Gold and Blue finished 3rd in the regular season. In Spring 2022 our Gold team finished 3rd in regular season and ended up as runner's up in playoffs while our Blue team finished 3rd in their division in regular season. In Fall 2022 our Gold team finished 9th while our Blue team finished 1st in regular season and brought home a trophy with a victory in the playoff finals!

Team History/Placement:
Our Rainbow 6 team was formed in late 2020 but began official competition in Fall 2021. With a quickly growing base of players, this team has seen a lot of success in the NECC. In Fall 2021 our Gold team placed 1st in the regular season and brought home our first ever trophy for the organization! That same semester our Blue team finished 2nd in regular season and achieved runner's up in the playoffs. In Spring 2022 our Gold team against placed 1st, with an undefeated record, and won their 2nd straight trophy. The Blue team finished 5th place in the regular season that same semester. And in Fall 2022 our Gold team finished 2nd in regular season and achieved runner's up in the playoffs while our Blue team finished 4th and became semifinalists in the playoffs.

Team History/Placement:
As our newest team, Smash Bros doesn't have a rich competitive history yet. However our passionate fighting games community has been around for awhile. After beginning formal competitions in the NECC our Gold team finished Fall 2022 in 4th place while our Blue team finished 8th. In playoffs that season, our Gold team went out in Lower Bracket Round 1. In addition, 'Barker' finished 3rd in the SSBU Singles component of NECC in Fall 2022 before crashing out in the Lower Bracket Round 2.

Team History/Placement:
Our CS:GO team was formed during the Fall 2020 season when COVID-19 forced our school to operate remotely. As one of the few teams that semester they helped carry us forward into a new era. Competing in the CSL Open Divsion this team finished 3rd (Fall '20), 31st (Fall '21), 13th (Spring '22), & 8th (Fall '22).

Team History/Placement:
Hearthstone has a long tradition at Murray State Esports with it being one of the first teams formed after League of Legends. Prior to 2021 the team achieved their highest rating of the top 15 in the TESPA Hearthstone competition. In Spring 2022 the team placed in the top 20 and in Fall 2022 the team placed 89th in the nation.
