The Doctor of Education in P-20 and Community Leadership is a 60-hour degree designed to foster innovation and creative leadership experiences for educational and community leaders through advanced degree coursework and valuable field work.

Specialization Area — 18 hrs 

STEM Specialization

The specialization in STEM Leadership is designed for individuals with a Master’s degree in a STEM field who have leadership experience in a P-20 setting. There are nine (9) hours of predetermined specialization courses and nine (9) hours selected from approved STEM electives in areas including Applied Engineering and Technology Management, Biology, Chemical Manufacturing Management, Chemistry, Physics, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Cybersecurity and Network Management and Watershed Science. These courses are taught through an interdisciplinary collaboration with the Jesse D. Jones College of Science, Engineering and Technology.

pK-12 Specialization

The specialization in pK-12 Leadership is designed for pK-12 educators with significant leadership experience at the state, district and/or school level. This specialization may also be applicable for individuals serving the pK-12 population in community agencies, governmental agencies or private/consulting organizations. There are nine (9) hours of predetermined specialization courses and nine (9) hours selected from approved electives.

  • ADM 750 Philanthropy and Community Engagement: Institutional Advancement in Education
  • ADM 755 The Role of Community Partnerships and Outreach in Education
  • ADM 760 Executive Leadership
  • Nine (9) hours of approved electives

Postsecondary Specialization

The specialization in Postsecondary Leadership is designed for individuals serving in leadership roles in postsecondary institutions including community colleges, four-year public and four-year private colleges and universities. This specialization may also be applicable for individuals serving institutions of higher education through community agencies, governmental agencies or private/consulting organizations. There are nine (9) hours of predetermined specialization courses and nine (9) hours selected from approved electives.
