Message from the Dean

Welcome to the College of Education and Human Services at Murray State University!

Our College is a community built around people—those who teach, lead, serve, support, and strengthen the communities around them. Across Alexander Hall and Carr Hall, you will find our faculty, staff, and students preparing to make meaningful differences in schools, organizations, healthcare settings, and communities throughout our region and beyond.

The College of Education and Human Services is home to a wide range of academic programs, including education, communication disorders, criminal justice, social work, counseling, leadership, health and physical education, library media, and more. While our programs may prepare students for different professions, they share a common commitment to learning, service, and improving the lives of others.

Whether you are a prospective student exploring your future, a current Racer, an alumnus, a community partner, or simply interested in learning more about our College, I invite you to explore our programs and discover the many opportunities available within COEHS.

We are proud of the work happening throughout our College, but even more proud of the people who make that work possible. I look forward to all that we will continue to accomplish together.

Thank you,

Samir Patel, Ph.D
Interim Dean
College of Education and Human Services
