Minor in History

The requirements listed below apply for students entering Murray State University at the present time. Criteria as they may relate to individual students may vary. See the Undergraduate Bulletin at the time of enrollment for more information.

History Minor (21 hours)

Required History Courses: (9 Hours)
Three of the Following courses:

  • HIS 201 - Modern Europe (3 Hours)
  • HIS 202 - Understanding Global History (3 Hours)
  • HIS 221 - American Experience to 1865 (3 Hours)
  • HIS 222 - American Experience Since 1865 (3 Hours)

History Electives: (12 Hours)

  • Twelve hours of upper-level history courses; at least one must be at the 400-level and six hours must be taken at Murray State.  
  • HIS 361 - Teaching history does not meet this requirement.
