Many scholarship opportunities are available to occupational safety and health students and range from general scholarships for any student who meets basic eligibility requirements to those sponsored by companies and individuals specifically targeted toward occupational safety and health students.

  • The AIST Foundation offers up to thirty (30) Steel Intern Scholarships valued at US$6,000 per year each, including the Premier Intern Scholarship valued at US$12,000 per year. These scholarships require a commitment to a paid summer internship at a North American steel producing company or steel-related company during the Summer of 2022. Undergraduate and graduate students may apply.

2021 Lorraine Pack Memorial Scholarship

The Lorraine Pack Memorial Scholarship helps female students who are interested in pursuing EHS or related fields.  The Lorraine Pack Memorial Scholarship provides the winner a $2,000 tuition award, and the opportunity to attend either the annual Campbell Symposium or the NSC Congress & Expo at no cost. While the tuition award can be provided to students attending a United States based institution from anywhere in the world, the travel portion is only available to those from the United States and Canada.

Women in Safety Scholarship 

The NSC Women in Safety Scholarship helps support women pursuing safety as a career and promote safety as a career path for those women studying business or engineering.

The Women in Safety Scholarship is a cash award of $5,000, renewable for up to four years. In addition to the monetary award to be used for educational purposes, the Women in Safety Scholarship recipients will be invited to attend an upcoming NSC Congress & Expo at no cost.

Billy D. Young Memorial Scholarship

The NSC Construction & Utilities Division honors Billy D. Young – the first NSC Public Utilities Division chair – with this scholarship in his name. Given to one student per year who intends to pursue a career in the utilities industry, the Billy D. Young scholarship provides the winner the opportunity to attend the NSC Congress & Expo and a $2,000 award.
